Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is essentially the enhancement of the breasts to increase their size, through a cosmetic surgery procedure using implants. It is also popularly known as a boob job. The implants are usually shells made of silicone and filled with either a soft silicone gel or saline. It is not necessarily the case that this breast surgery procedure is always for cosmetic reasons, as it can also be upon referral for medical reasons. A relatively straightforward procedure these days, breast augmentation surgery normally only takes around 1.5 hours to complete.

Breast Asymmetry

This breast surgery procedure is usually performed for corrective reasons, addressing a difference in size or shape from one breast to the other, or sometimes even to correct nipple position. As a guide for you to ascertain if you require breast asymmetry surgery, it is usually recommended should one of your breasts be a cup size or more bigger than the other. Depending on the nature of your breast asymmetry surgery, the procedure usually takes 2-3 hours under a light general anaesthetic.

Breast Implant Removal and Replacement

The need or desire for breast implant removal and / or replacement is usually as a result of a leakage, rupture or rippling of the implant, a change in size or shape or capsular contracture, all of which can result in pain and discomfort. This can be addressed with this procedure, which is performed with the patient under either general anaesthetic or an intravenous sedation.

Breast Reduction

Overly large breasts can have a profound effect on a woman's life, from affecting her self-confidence and personal relationships to genuine discomfort. With realistic expectations, breast reduction surgery can give you smaller, firmer breasts to restore your confidence and so positively change your life as a result. Breast reduction surgery is performed under general anaesthetic in a 2-3.5 hour operation, but the time taken depends entirely from case to case.

Breast Uplift / Lift

This type of breast surgery aims at firming and lifting breasts to produce a fuller, firmer bust after sagging has occurred, most usually as a result of having children and breast-feeding. This is not a cosmetic surgery procedure that increases the size of the breasts, but is often performed in tandem with breast augmentation surgery according to individual patients' needs. Taking 2-2.5 hours, breast uplift surgery is completed under general anaesthetic.
